Just as we have every January since 2008, we brought the Monster Chili Dog out for January (and probably part of February too). In case you have forgotten, the Monster Dog features a full 1/4 pound all beef frank from Hormel. To that we add our special home made Texas Chili, some spicy brown mustard, sweet relish and fresh chopped red onions. If that sounds not quite right then we make your way with any toppings we have. The Monster Dogs are going fast at $4.99. Guaranteed to induce an afternoon coma, or at least a strong desire for a nap.

The Ultimate Meatball Sub is back for December. If you have tried other meatball subs and found them boring, then try The Ultimate Meatball at the Ox for a real comfort food experience. We use meatballs made from real meat, not soybeans like our competition. Add some rich Marinara sauce, Provolone and Parmesan along with plenty of toppings and you will warm up your insides to combat the cold outside. The Ultimate Meatball Sub will only be available through the end of December, so come on in today to get yours.

Now that fall is falling and winter is right around the corner it's time for some comfort food. Back by popular demand from last winter the open faced Hot Roast Beef Sandwich is on the Special Board. The bread comes form our local baker (Denny's 5th Avenue in Bloomington) but everything else is home made at the Ox. Stop in and be comforted!

For the third year we are featuring the Honeycrisp Melt Sandwich. We take fresh sliced Honeycrisp apples, Peppadew cream cheese and Provolone cheese with your choice of bread, all toasted and finished with some Western dressing, lettuce, tomato and sweet red onions. Sure, that sounds strange, but don't knock it until you have tried one! If you want to be true to a more carnivorous tendancy, we suggest adding ham for an extra 50 cents; the apples, ham and cheeses alltogether are seriously tasty. The Honeycrisp Melt will be available as long as the apples stay on the market.

The Chicken & Strawberry Salad has been one of our most succesful specials to date. Alas, the strawberry season is coming to a close. If you loved the Chicken & Strawberries stop by soon....we will keep it going until mid September or until the Honey Crisp apples come to market for the fall.
